I don’t have any good photos, but in Sweden I saw double-articulated buses that the section between the two articulations was for standing.

A lot of people in Vancouver are unhappy that the new buses have so few seats. Its nice to be able to sit down during a long ride. The new trolley cars are called “cattle cars” by some.
When I was in Paris over the summer I was really happy/impressed with the fold down seats, though there wasn’t that many of them. It seems like you could pack a huge number of those in so that when the bus is empty there is still seating, but folks can easily stand up once things start getting packed.
