A couple of weeks ago, we had the chance to ride Link light rail with a handful journalists. Among them was the well-known Seattle Sketcher of the Seattle Times. Below is his sketch of some of us bloggers. Martin H. Duke is in the red shirt, Ben Schiendelman is wearing shorts and a camera, and I’m on the right. Click through for more sketches from the ride.

How did you guys like the link cars? Nice ride? More pleasant/well-lit interiors than metro buses? How about space? Did they feel less cramped? How does standing in a link car compare to standing on a bus?
Oh, man…
Link is a lot bigger than a Metro bus. There’s a ton more standing room, easily twice as much. The ride is, of course, a lot smoother, although the rail operators really punch it coming out of stations – it’s not as slow of acceleration as I’ve seen on a lot of other systems.
And yeah, things are lit better than on a bus. The ceilings are really surprisingly high, too.
