It isn’t really a storage limitation just a limit on how deep threads can nest. If you want to address a specific person/post in a deeply nested thread just put their name at the top of the post like I did. If it gets really confusing you can include the time stamp of the post you are replying too to.

one mor thing, if i wanna give someone their props for volunteering in the community, but the site says “comments wont Nest b-low this level, whats up with that? arent these interactive sites supposed to keep on rollin? seems a good moderator could limit the storage demands by dumping the nonsense so the rest of us can get worthy points out.

point is, seatown should get with the times. in SF, a fastpass is good on any muni carrier in the bay area. and if you got a fastpass, you can choose to ride 24 7 if you want

i know everyone wants to show off how much they ca spend on a bike, but after living in various cities, and riding cannondales; i gotta suggest to people-no matter what kind you got, to start putting some sort of wrap over brand info on your bikes. wont actually stop theft, but we can make it a crap shoot for them.

hmmm..mt baker to a terminus and then kicked off at the other terminus doesn’t quite add up if I want to see every stop…

I talked to one of the PR folks at ST. Here’s how it’ll work for the golden (silver) ticket holders:

1) Get to Mount Baker. You can take the shuttle from Union Station if you want.
2) Watch the ceremony
3) Get on board a train. There will be a northbound and a southbound train. It sounds like each will be a two car train. There will be a TON of people, so you may not get to pick which train.
4) Ride the train in the direction it’s headed. At the terminus, you will turn around and go to the opposite terminus. If you wish, you may deboard at any station, but you’ll have to stand at the end of the line to get back on.
5) Upon reaching the second terminus, you will be forcibly removed from the train. At 10 am, trains will be open to everyone.

It takes 54 minutes to go from Mount Baker to one terminus and then back to the other. So I imagine golden ticket bearers will be boarding around 09:00.

While you’re there, look for me in a bright blue T-shirt with “Atomic Taco” written on the front. Say hi!

Bike corral works for me. As long as someone is watching the area to make sure no one with bolt cutters is going shopping for a new bike, I’m happy.

I’m volunteering at the bike parking for Mt Baker station on Sunday. You call it a bike valet but we call the bike corral and it is not a valet service (for liability reasons) although it’ll be staffed all day. For Link launch, there’s bicycle parking at every station.

the person at the table that gave me the ticket told me there would be a bike valet at mt baker. i’d double-check that with inauguralticket@soundtransit.org just to be sure but i had asked if i could take my bike on the train and got the big n-o. i believe the bike valet will be used throughout the day – perhaps some of the more knowledgeable people on here who are volunteering on sat/sun might know more.

I rode my bike to Union Station, got my silver ticket, then road to the Mt Baker station. Biking sounds like the most appropriate way from me to get to Mt Baker on Saturday but I worry about the security of my bike with a few thousand people milling around while I am off riding Link. I had not heard there would be a bike valet. Where did you hear that from? BIke valet would make riding there perfect!

they said to get there by 8am so i’m shooting to get there right around that time. the mayors will arrive at 8:15 but there will be other stuff going on before then. i figure it’s a once in a lifetime thing so i’m hoping to get there a few minutes early just to be sure.

When are you (or anyone) planning to get there? It sounds like the official ceremony starts at 8:20 am, ride starts at ??. Should ticket holders get there by a certain time?

if you enjoy being late, take the 48!

i might actually take the 48 there myself. whenever i take the 48, i end up taking the bus *prior* the one that would get me there 10 minutes early since murphy’s law appears to apply with greater force to the 48 bus than most others in the metro universe. :)

Also, I’ve never checked out the Mt. Baker station but it seems like the 48 goes right next to it. It seems it would make sense to take the 48 there that morning, but it looks like they are encouraging people to shuttle in from elsewhere. Does it seem like it would be fine to take the 48 there? Or is there some weirdness involving actually getting to the MB station?

i just got my ticket there as well – it’s not clear to me how it will work but i was pleased to learn there will be a bike valet at the mt baker station – i imagine they have to make concessions for people who need to get back to mt baker to get their stuff, but it may not hurt to email inauguralticket@soundtransit.org to find out.
