Meeting Reminders

February 11, 2010 at 11:30 am

With a busy meeting season, several reminders are due. We are having our first Eastside meet-up tonight at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Bellevue.  Attendees should begin showing up at 5pm.  Right before our meet-up, Sound Transit is holding a joint workshop with the Bellevue City Council discussing the new downtown alternatives recently studied.  The workshop will be open to the public at Meydenbauer Center from 1:30pm to 4pm.

Sound Transit is also holding yet another open house for the new alternatives next Thursday, February 18th, from 4 to 7pm (presentation beginning at 5pm).  Late last year, we had a recap on a similar open house being held regarding the old alternatives in the DEIS.

Lastly, the last of three First Hill Streetcar open houses will be held tonight from 4 to 7pm at Seattle First Baptist Church.  This comes in light of recent new streetcar info.

The 271 arrives at 5:05 but I’d have to leave work at 3:50 to take it, so I may be later.

Ben Schiendelman says:

Being later is fine, we won’t be going anywhere. :)

Max says:

Does anybody know if the city of Bellevue plans to stream that meeting live? I see a link to streaming video, but no schedule http://www.ci.bellevue.wa.us/bellevue_tv.htm

Chris Stefan says:

I won’t be able to leave downtown until nearly 5 PM so I’ll be there whenever the 550 gets me there.

Dave Honan says:

Given that my cube is visible in the East Link Options illustration of the proposed BTC, I ought to be able to get to Rock Bottom by 5pm. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone!

Anc says:

:( Were it this time tomorrow I would actually be back home and able to go.

Mike Skehan says:

After reading the charging papers, it’s pretty clear that SPD could use some ‘sensitivity training’, or at least these two.
BTW, if I were McDonalds, I’d be so pissed that the answer was to take the trouble makers to my front door. Jeeze!

Note to STB Staff: the email address this comment is attached to is my sister’s as I do not wish to give out mine

We couldn’t make the meetup due to my sister Jessica having some medical issues related to her pregnancy and it’s about 7:40 PM or so as I post this and the bus just dropped both of us off from Overlake Hospital. Jess is doing fine but is now on doctor ordered bedrest until her followup appointment on Monday.

(I do have her permission to post this, but we both wish not to go into specific details)
