It always frustrates me that the TCC Forums are always in the middle of the day, right when I can’t make ‘em.

Jessica Blaine says:

Same here. I also notice that their donation page is not secured (Firefox users: note that the address bar doesn’t light up in blue (basic secure) or green (true secure), so it makes me really wonder…)

Shefali Ranganathan (Transportation Choices Coalition) says:

Hi Jessica,

Our page is routed through a secure server. I’ll follow up on your Firefox observations (not quite sure what’s going on there) but I want to assure you that donations are always processed offline and securely at TCC.

Kenneth Parker says:

This is probably the form isn’t secure and the page that it sends the data to is.

While that is technically correct, the appearance is bad.

Ben Schiendelman says:

Yep. It’s always bugged me – there’s no way I can dive out of work in the middle of the day for an hour and a half (plus transit time).

Daniel Warwick says:

I’ll be downtown tomorrow for a DECA conference. Might be able to stop in, but would probably stick out in my suit (required for conference)

Shefali Ranganathan (Transportation Choices Coalition) says:

It’s a fair criticism that we get about afternoon forums. We also get requests to do it only in the afternoon because that’s when a lot of people are able to attend. We are going to try and do a mix of afternoon and evening Friday Forums so that more people can attend.

Mickymse says:

There’s a reason that the people who are able to attend tend to be folks who get paid to work on political (or transit-specific) issues or are retirees who have the free time.
