Mudslide on the Sounder North line
=
Makes for one very screwed up commute.. Exercise that Overtime today and wait for the chao to end. Be safe out there otherwise!
It’s currently ONE HOUR and THIRTEEN MINUTES +/- from Bellevue to Federal Way…Ouch….

reason #245345345 why we voted for more LINK
ST Operations denies the Sounder North line is affected by mudslides. Operating as normal.
Excellent – It was something I was hearing over the radio (railroadradio.net) on a train crew reporting a mudslide near Golden Gardens/Milepost 9
Hey brad, how did your vote go?
I don’t think there’s any reason to ask that.
Southbound Sounder has a small delay between Seattle and Tukwilla. BNSF mudslide detectors were activated requiring slower speeds on this stretch. We left Tukwilla 6 minutes ago. No obstructions at this time.
Well that’s cool. Thanks for the update!
I have an interesting anecdote regarding the election which I’ll share privately when I have a moment.
I look forward to it. :)
Just got back from a hellish drive from Bellevue to Puyallup. Over TWO HOURS!!! They were saying on Komo 1000 that this is as bad as thanksgiving traffic.
I think it’s worse. I’m glad I won’t be driving anywhere over that holiday. :)
Yeah it took me an hour and a half to drive from Bothell to Capitol Hill. This was taking 405 north to I-5 and than south due to 520 always a big big mess. Although I jumped off the freeway at 85th and drove down Roosevelt instead. Much quicker that way than staying on I-5. Ugh..rail now please..lol.
I was going to take the 560 to Burien but opted to just head out to Kent instead…
So, here was my trip home…
Left work at 5:25pm to catch the ST 560. NE 112th was backed up from 8th SE to I-90 and was good for maybe 2mph. The 560 showed up on-time to me and was quickly 15 minutes late. I decided to get off at South Bellevue P&R and take the 550 to Downtown Seattle to take Sounder 1517 to Kent Station. After 35 minutes on the 550, I went to Starbucks, got a cup of java, walked down to the Sounder platform at King Street and was floored at what I saw…
There was 200+ people waiting for the train!! I couldn’t believe it! Especially for a fairly new train and such a late evening departure, I had the mind set that I was going to enjoy a peaceful ride South in a car by myself. Nope! There was 421 passengers when we left Tukwila.
Anywho, I arrived home at 7:30pm….
And tomorrow is expected to be harder rain….
No delays for me at all… strange!
