Corridor 6 from the Transit Master Plan

  1. Reading the blog on the Madison BRT is very interesting. I am not in favour of eliminating trolleybus service on 19th Ave. Doing so would be a complete disservice to seniors living along the line. Being a senior citizen myself, I have a mobility problem. If it can handle 15m service, leave it be. Perhaps at night after 9 or 10 p.m. the 43 could be rerouted over 19th from E. Thomas St. connecting to 23rd Ave. along such a street as E. Mercer assuming that residents along there don’t raise a huge fuss. This would reduce reduplication of some service, although riders who live along 23rd Ave. between Mercer and Thomas St. would lose a direct service to downtown and would have to transfer to the Madison BRT. Of course. seniors living along Thomas between 19th Ave. and 23 Ave. might not like this. This is just an idea, nothing more than that.
