J-Man Explores rides the Red and Green Vine BRT lines in Vancouver, Washington, after taking MAX and an interstate C-Tran route from Portland. He argues they aren’t BRT but they are frequent. I have a bunch of transit swag—pins, ephemera, ORCA cards, etc—that need a new home. Anyone know of a good place?
Metro needs to add bus shelters to the Pinehurst Station route 77 bus stops. If I were a Lake City or Aurora-bound Link-to-bus rider, the absence of bus shelters, especially on rainy, or cold and windy days, would make me choose another station over Pinehurst. All the other nearby stations have bus shelters. And speaking of route 77 bus stops, it’s be so much better if the westbound route 77 stop was on the west side of 5th Ave NE. As is, so many riders are going to be temped to cross against the light. I suppose they don’t want cars getting stuck in the intersection behind a bus stopping on the far side of the intersection.
I’d also like to see Seattle improve the 130th overpass sidewalks, especially the one on the north side. Not sure how, a barrier, widening, fencing, lighting. A lot of walkup riders are going to be using that overpass sidewalk, and as far as I can tell, not one improvement has been made to it.
