What you didn’t know was how it actually breaks down:
It’ll cost 50 cents to get into downtown Bellevue.
And $5.50 to get the hell out.
At least I think it’s funny.
It’s easier to part with your $5.50 thinking it’s an exit toll for Bellevue than an entry toll for Seattle.
How does this work for those like myself that ride the 550? Do transit vehicles have to pay this as well?

I had to part with more than $5.50 for a budweiser at The Killers concert.
I wonder what tolling will mean for the 405SB to 5NB connection? Will people switch to that route to aviod the 5.50? My guess is probably not if they are coming from the eastside, but just a thought. Perhaps Tukwila will benefit from this?
That’s the thing about these tolls, a lot of people will choose alternate routes. It’s not like the Bay Bridge or something where there is really only one choice. There are a few ways accross the lake.
