The East Link project expands light rail from Downtown Seattle to Mercer Island, downtown Bellevue, and the Overlake Transit Center with stations serving Mercer Island, South Bellevue, downtown Bellevue, Bel-Red and Overlake areas. For those interested, Sound Transit will be holding the following public meetings in July:

112th Avenue

Background:

On April 22, the Sound Transit Board announced its preference for an East Link light rail route that runs on 112th Avenue between Downtown and Bellevue Way. While the Bellevue City Council prefers an alternate route (B7, next to I-405), the 112th Avenue alignment could be Sound Transit’s final choice. Read the 112th Avenue Light Rail Options Concept Design Report that was presented to the Board on Thursday, June 24.

Hospital Station Options Evaluation and Public Meeting

Background:

At the direction of the Sound Transit Board, Sound Transit is evaluating design options for the Hospital Station in Bellevue along the BNSF rail corridor. A draft Technical Memorandum has been published to present the results of the evaluation. Read the Segment C – Evaluation of Hospital Station Options that was presented to the Board on Thursday, June 24.

  1. May I politely suggest that the portion of this article on the main seattletransitblog website should have had the dates of the meetings or something newsworthy rather than some boilerplate about what East Link is.
