The City wants art for improving the SLU streetcar stations, with three awards of $30,000 each. I wonder what sort of art I should submit?
Also, Sound Transit has selected an artist for the Capitol Hill Station, thanks Orphan Road for the pointer.

I know that this is off topic, but did you know that WSDOT has a flickr account? They’ve got some great pics up from the work that they’re doing to try to clear out the passes. Might be worth checking out.

My question: If the city rule is 1% for art, then shouldn’t the grants be more like $5mn total since the thing cost $50mn? $90K seems kinda skimpy in comparison.
So in the middle of this “crisis” a DOT worker has the time to walk around taking pictures?
