4 Replies to “Seattle’s New Bike Map”

  1. The Bicycle Master Plan will do great things south of 85th – but it leaves a huge population of bikers north of 85th in the same place as they were before – without bike lanes. No bike lanes, no sidewalks, what can we do to draw attention to this issue so we can at least get some benefit from the Pedestrian Master Plan? We want sustainable neighborhoods, too.

  2. We in the South of Seattle suffer the same indignity of those north of 85th…with the exception of the “tourist” lane around Alki and the 3/4 mile lane heading north (one way) along Alaska Way. However, I think that riding on the street in many cases is safer than a plopped-down bike lane that the city seems to favor (i.e. in the door zone).

  3. Ok, I’m confused. Are the new maps only available as pdfs? From that press release I thought there was a new printed map, so I filled out the form to request one, only to receive the 2003 map. Re-reading the press release seems to indicate that a new version of the printed version will be out in the fall. Or are they just getting rid of old stock first?
