  1. I’m all for it, but on the topic of trying to get off the bus fast, not much is more annoying than having someone get up from a seat and push their way down the aisle on a moving bus that is way over 100% capacity, just so they can get to the farebox 3 seconds after the bus stops instead of 10.

It’s one thing to be prepared, but I’d ask people to stop being jerks about it.

Hi, I’m that guy you’re talking about. And, no, I’m not going to stop.

I’d much rather be the “get up while the bus is moving guy” than the “gets up at the last possible moment, only to take his sweet f-ing time getting to the farebox guy.” See, I’m really doing you a favor.

  3. Don’t kid yourself: you’re doing me no favors pushing me around on the bus. I’m doing my best to try to hold on to a bar over my head, while the bus driver is randomly alternating between slamming on the brakes and the accelerator. Your selfish desire to get off the bus sooner does not override my selfish desire to have a safe ride (and help others have a safe ride as well).

If you don’t like the situation, write in to Metro and ask them to send more buses, or larger buses, so there’s fewer people in the aisles.
